ebay.co.uk - incorrect link with Firefox - works fine with IE or manually-typed address

"this may be of use to some of you, one day...
in a rather bizarre set of circumstances..."

a bit strange
but since mid-day today Firefox couldn't
get into ebay.co.uk correctly

opening the main page - www.ebay.co.uk in Firefox:
clicking on "My Ebay" gets the error dialog:
"my.ebay.uk could not be found"

the button links to:
http://my.ebay.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?MyEbay

er...
surely that's incorrect ??

ought it not be: my.ebay.co.uk
not just: my.ebay.uk

sure enough,
typing the .co.uk version in manually gets to the correct page

but, trying it in IE,
the "My Ebay" button *does* correctly link to
http://my.ebay.co.uk/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?MyeBay

That's one of the pitfalls of using a beta product.
