EULA script error
Posted by Bob on August 24th, 2003

I am unable to download a critical security patch for Internet Explorer
because of a script error associated with the EULA. When I accept the EULA,
the download is started & then abandoned. I get a dialog box message:

Internet Explorer Script Message

Line 2
Char 1
Error Object doesn't support this property or method
Code 0
URL
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.co...la/en/eula.htm

Do you want to contuinue running scripts on this page?

I'm running Windows 98 first edition with Internet Explorer 6.

Does anyone have any useful advice?

First, I would close IE and empty your temporary internet files,
from Control Panel / Internet Options. Be sure to check the
box to include all offline content. If that doesn't help, use
the 'Repair' option for MS Internet Explorer in Add\Remove
Programs.
