can anyone help,when I open FreeCell all I get is a blank white screen.
I've even reinstalled windows and get the same problem

Go back after a reboot and add it back in.
If you have the same problem, I suspect some kind of conflict. Then I
would disable stuff with your System Utility Configuration and see what
happens.

turn off the anti-virus soptware to play some card games. I now use Avast,
and have no problems with any games.

Two way virus checker work is to look for a unique string in a file,
or watch how a program operates following a set of rules (Heuristic
Virus Checking)
Free cell might have a string that Avast looks for or doesn't like the
way it runs.
