Ive had an Abit Silurio 5600 DT (256mb) for around 2 years i think- and have
had no problems until now.

I burnt out my CPU a few months ago in my athlon3200+ rig (not from
overclocking- just from forgetting to put the fan back on :S) and have since
bought a new Asus A8V motherboard and AMD64 3000+ to replace my broken kit.

Then i bought guild wars- which is when i began to notice problems- the game
jumped, quite 'violently' and it was constant, even on the main start page-
making the game pretty much not playable.
I have worked out a temporary measure, where i install the nvidia drivers
package, restart, and it works fine until system restart.
note, the guild wars problem is only on WindowsXP SP2, i have a dual boot
machine which is also running Win2003 Server - i dont have any issues with
Guild Wars on my 2k3 partition.
I also get the similar jumping issue on the DirectX 3D 7 tests in DXDiag,
but not DX8 or 9- which is also fixed with the drivers method.

The next problem i noticed about a week ago, which is all video (as in
windows media player) is very pale looking, with distinctive enhancments of
yellow and red- almost as if someone has tweaked around with the saturation
and brightness settings- but all the settings are normal, and lengthy
amounts of tweaking the colour levels in windows media player still results
in the same shoddy colours.

The fix for this is to bring up the display settings dialogue, and under the
troubleshooting tab in advanced, select a lower form of hardware
acceleration ("Disable all DirectDraw and Direct3D accelerations, as well as
all cursor and advanced drawing accelerations. Use this setting to correct
severe problems with DirectX accelerated applications.") any higher levels
tahn the one mentioned in brackets will not make video work properly.

Can somebody please shine some light on this issue, and tell me whether or
not im going to need a new graphics card, or whether its something a little
bigger. Ive contacted Abit, who were... pretty dumb

random service halting up my machine - the only issues are to do with
