Gfx problem in Win XP
Posted by maximus84 on April 15th, 2006

A friend of mine has a very strange problem. I formatted the machine
and reinstalled Win XP for him, but then the graphics cars seems to
have problem. The symptons are also very bizarre. There is always a
square of black lines behind the mouse pointer.
When he tries to play videos, there is a combination of color and and
black lines running throgh the whole video frames. I tried updating the
driver but that did not change. Could it be a hardware problem?
Everything apart from a few icons, the mouse pointer and the video
playback.
thx in advance.

Did the update of drivers go in okay? What do you show for "Display"
under device manger? What card is it?

The card is a Mobility Radeon 7000 IGP. Yes the update went fine, but
no difference so I reverted to the original driver.

If you had cross posted instead of multi posted I would have seen these
