- google earth disappointment
- Posted by jils on July 16th, 2005
when i run google earth, zooming gives me a kaleidescope effect.
it zooms ok to start with, then when it might start getting interesting,
big chunks of picture start to overlap, until i have a mess on the screen.
anyone know what could be causing this?

bloody wasn't cheap when it was bought, i know that!
3dfx voodoo5
think i paid the equivalent of a small mortgage at the time.
still, i think it is the root of the problem.
thanks everyone for input.

Have the images been fully streamed yet? If not, you may be seeing

- Posted by jils on July 17th, 2005
yes, they're at 100% streamed. this isn't blurry, it's sharp .. sharp
kaleidescope!

I scrapped it as you get crystal clear images over US, lower quality

Hate to disagree, but there are some excellent 3D images all over, including

I agree, there are some great sharp imagery for Australia, but not for
Sydney itself -- which is weird as it's the biggest city in Oz!

yeah, thanks rick. brian said "Drop the resolution one notch within the
programs settings".
that's the option i can't find.
my screen is already set at the display properties you mention.
thanks anyway, i'm pretty sure the bottom line is a conflict with the
graphics card.

I had similar problems when I first installed it but they cleared up on
their own? PS a new version of the beta was released yesterday:
