- Hard Disk Recovery
- Posted by Nick Withers on November 26th, 2003
Hi All
Can anyone help?
I had trouble with windows xp!
I decided to reload my old windows 98 which is now running fine!
My problem - only 500 mb of my 30gig disk is visable to dos.
On trying a disk repair programme it also found the 500 mb, plus the missing
28+gig which cannot be accessd as it has no recognisable format!!!
I also notice that the Autoexec and Config files have been written over with
a warning "do not modify" or similar.
I would like to recover my old data - How?????

It sounds like you had XP on an NTFS partition, which you
need to remove. Back up all of your data first.
