- Help w/Tracking Source of bogus error message: "Bad Image": SensAPI.DLL not a valid Windows Image
- Posted by mutu on May 1st, 2005
I am getting the following bogus error message popping up while Not
on-line using Win XP Home.
The named file will occasionally vary so I indicated it as
Various_Filenames.
I think it is some kind of virus but need help identifying it!
Or I would like to know how to determine what the true source of this
bogus error messages is by tracking it to is actual source and finding
out exactly what is spawning it.
Error message follows:
Various_Filenames: various_filename.exe - Bad Image
The application or DLL C:\WINNT\System32\SensAPI.DLL is not a valid
Windows Image. Please check this against your installation diskette
Thanks in advance.

This is probably not a virus, but a corrupt system file causing
the error -- sensapi.dll is the System Event Notification Service.
Use the system file checker to repair your system:
Start ... Run ... sfc /scannow
