In a text newsgroup such as this one, when you click on a message it's
downloaded to your computer in order that you can read it.
If you want to download files from binary newsgroups, then again, clicking
on them will automatically trigger the download process. When it's
complete, you'll see a paperclip in the top right section of the message
pane of Outlook Express to denote an attachment - clicking on it will give
you the option of opening it (not a good idea) or saving it to disk, from
where you can check it for viruses before opening it (better idea).
Some newsgroup messages have attachments split across multiple messages.
Often they'll have the details of how many files make up the whole in the
subject line (eg, "Video_of_my_holiday.mpg, 1/12). Click on the first
message, press your shift button and click on the last message in the group,
then right click and select the option 'Combine and decode' and follow the
prompts.
Hope this helps.

Hi, I use OE6 and find that if there are messages on the NG that I want to
save for a while is to drag them across to the Inbox or other file that I
have set up for e-mailing.
