HP Pavilion 522c integrated video problem
Posted by AN on March 1st, 2005

Hello All,

I'm hoping someone can drop me some advice about what to do about an HP
Pavilion 522c computer that I inherited that has an integrated Nvidia
GeForce2 video controller.

I wanted to restage my computer so I reinstall Windows XP Professional
and I've got every device installed with the exception of the video
controller. It's weird. Even, I have 32bit True color and 1024x768
resolution, my device manager shows that the driver is not installed and
needs to be and when I move windows around, the movement is very jaggedy
or staggered, not smooth. It's driving my eyes crazy to look at the
screen when I scroll web pages and such.

I tried reinstalling the driver but so far haven't been able to find the
correct one that works. I also tried using the restore partition but it
doesn't seem to work.

Any guidance on this would be much appreciated.

Adil

Have you checked the Microsoft updates page for drivers?
Also install/update all service packs and DirectX.

There's an 'updated' driver on HP's web site, mayhap that would help. You
could also check at Driver Guide dot com, the drivers are usually listed
there...luck...
