- IE and Hotmail
- Posted by Eileen on November 20th, 2004
Hi, ever since SP2 for XP, I have not been able to access Hotmail and a few
other internet sites...one of them being Google....here at work. EVerything
is fine at my home computer because I have not upgraded to SP2. So, I
thought that I would add Hotmail to my OE6. I have everything configured
correctly, and wouldn't you know it.......it timed out...with this error:
Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account:
'Hotmail', Server: http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp',
Protocol: HTTPMail,
Server Response: ' ', Port: 0, Secire)SSL): No, Socket Error: 12002, Error
Number: 0x800CCC19
I am wondering if above gives a big hint as to what my problem is in
accessing Hotmail from IE6. Can anyone out there decipher this message ?
If so, please tell me if there is a setting somewhere on this computer that
needs to be fixed or adjusted so that I can go back to normal ????
Thanks so much in advance,
Eileen

Hotmail is an on-line service (i.e. website)
Suggest that you log on to www.hotmail.com

from this computer in any way, shape or form. The sisn in screen pops up, I
enter my information and then nothing for a few minutes, then "This page
cannot be displayed.....blah blah blah.......................
