Internet explorer, winxp, NTL broadband
Posted by Les anderson on December 7th, 2003

Recently received an automatic download from XP regarding Nvidia software
for my on board sound, and this caused problems. I removed the Microsoft
update and this has cause my internet connection (Broadband NTL) to go
haywire !

When I click the Internet Icon it simply displays Internet options,
Checking these
I find a web page from Microsoft in the default address under connections. I
enter the NTL address and enter and it makes no difference I just get
options when I press the Icon, and cannot delete the default address.

The daft thing is if I click e-mail it launches ok from the same connection
I can also launch the internet correctly through my firewall (Zone Alarm)

Control panel/networkconnections shows the Broadband as disconnected,
It jst attempts a dial-up. Help!

You may have a sticky CTRL or ALT key. Tap them both a
few times, and/or clean your keyboard.
