After having had no problems at all, I am having several 'sudden' internet
problems with my laptop IBM Thinkpad computer, which uses Windows '98
(although other computers on the same server here work well):

1) very often, I can receive emails on Outlook Express, but cannot send
them out. They stay in my 'outbox' for long periods of time, even though I
continue to receive emails.

2) sometimes, but far less often, the opposite is true...I can send out, but
not receive emails.

3) I occasionally get emails a few days after they have been sent.

4) very often, I cannot pull up links from Internet Explorer, although I
know they exist. If I persist by trying a half dozen times, they 'may' work,
but not always.

5) even though I have recently connected online through Google, if I try
again in a few minutes, I will get the "this page cannot be displayed" sign
instead of Google.

I would appreciate any help or guidelines you could give me to solve this.
