why in newsgroups view in OE6 are jpg pictures not being displayed. they are
just a box with a small box at the top left with a red cross in it. Im sure
they used to until recently

Newsgroups (or the vast majority of them) are text
only, or binary groups. Outlook express does not
show binary previews, you need a better newsreader
for that. The only other type of group that an image
would be previewed, is a group that allows HTML, which
you should steer clear of unless you are confident of
your security precautions.
