- laptop loses sound after hibernaation
- Posted by Casper on November 22nd, 2003
For the past couple of days, after a few hours on hibernation, my inspirion
5100 loses sound. I can regain it after a reboot. Win XP home, P 2.4
processor, 512 ram. Any ideas? Thanks, Jeff

Maybe something on the M$KB will fix it.

I have a different laptop make and model, but the same problem. In my
case, it's a known issue with the integrated sound chip on my motherboard.
You might check Dell's site for information in that regard. I don't always
lose sound, but most of the time (Hibernate or Standby) I do.
