- Last Version of Forte FREE Agent?
- Posted by Slyfoot on June 22nd, 2004
Out of curiosity, what was the last version of Forte Free Agent that
was NOT bundled with Forte Agent? I had been using Forte Free Agent
v1.11 but I seemed to be having problems with it. I found v1.21 and
it seems to be doing okay, but I'm wondering if there's a later
version than that one.
And resist the urge to recommend XNews or some other newsreader,
thanks.

The one you're using.
What's wrong with updating to the latest version?

Not necessarily anything wrong with it per se, I just prefer the
standalone Free Agent to the newer versions bundled with Agent. I'm
used to the interface and the newer version doesn't really have
anything I want (although a plonk file would be nice). But what
really grates on the nerves is that when you select the 'free' part of
Agent now, the interface includes options that require payment if you
click on them. It just irritates me is all. And yes, I know there
are ways around that, but it's just not worth it.
