I am running win98 on a dfi wotherboard with ac'97 onbord. I have my
record player hoocked up to my tuner witch in return is hoocked up to my
line in. I can hear the reord throught my computer speakers but cant
seem to record from mty line in.

I repeat my answer :-
On the W98 desktop, double left click on the speaker icon at the bottom of your screen to
bring up the Play Control. Go to options and then properties and adjust volume for
recording and tick show line in. Faders will then come up for recording levels etc. Tick
box for line in, it's probably defaulted to CD in.
That's a few things to check.
The fact you can hear the LP on your PC means it's wired correctly.
If above doesn't work then what software are you using to record with? Are the "input"
levels in the software not muted?
