- Mail in mass bulk
- Posted by jack on February 10th, 2004
Hi Peeps
Today I checked my Dailey mail via outlook 6, normally I receive about
2 to 5 emails per day - but on this occasion it was a little more
530 mother emails waiting in the outlook inbox. (don't tink so)
I deleted them after a long wait while norton filterd the naughty
attachments;
Then when i checked the inbox again another 300 came piping through like
a rat bitch rampent for sex -Doh der what ganning on mate.
Gave Freeserve a ring and they told me I had to set up mail rules basically
Don't tink so - I would be there forever.
Could this be the mass mailing worm `big bad doom' doing its final task.
bombarding venerable ISP servers or could I have been mailbombed.
Any clues plz

Now now- no need for that ¬
"Good luck with the spam"
Considering the amount of time you spend
in this news group one would expect a more
mature answer to the query.

YOur PC sent out 300 emails within the time you checked and those 300
new ones were just bounced back to you. You got a worm with a smtp

I think you should hide your real e-mail addr
when writing in the newsgroups.
The SWEN (=NEWS spelled backwards) scans
newsgroup articles for e-mail addresses and sends emails
to them.
I have choosen to get a forward filtered e-mail addr
at
www.despammed.com
meaning you could just replay to this mail
as you normally do.
I will get your e-mail, but first after the mail
has been through the spam and virus filter at
www.despammed.com
before the mail is automatically forwarded to me.
If the e-mail contains a virus or is a spam email
it will not be forwarded.
I have not got any of those SWEN e-mails yet.

How do you know it's a fake address? There could very
well be somebody with that AOL address that is getting
lots of spam, and all thanks to you. Please change your
mung by putting "invalid" instead of "com" as the TLD, ie.
joinibravo@aol.invalid
If you keep it as it is, that make you as bad as the spammers.

TO ALL<
There are alot of viruses going around right now.
SEE emali message postings, I want the .dbx files if possible.
NOT THE EXE FILES> unless all emails are .zipped. and ready, i would
prefer the .dbz files though

The address is a fake (now anyway)
because it used to be my X AOL email account.
so my so called "mung" will stay the same !

Thankyou for your advice, would be nice if everyone
else thought of helping instead of interfering.

The address MAY have been yours, but it could
now belong to somebody else. You're no better
than the spammers you are complaining about,
and people have been larted to their ISPs for
less.

Well, well. You're kind of dumb, aren't you?
To begin with, Harrison wasn't even replying to you with the last post.
Which makes it *twice* that you blamed him for your inability to read in
this one thread.
Now, how would it be if the reason you were getting all that spam
was because someone was using *your* real address as a munge in
newsgroups? You'd probably hope that someone mentioned it to them,
wouldn't you?
As far as your problem goes, there are several simple methods of
correcting it. But, you've 'ended the session'. Ta ta, then.
