Microphone Problems.
Posted by Rod Pace on March 11th, 2005

When I try to record on Sound Recorder the sound comes out very low.

I've click on the sound icon down the bottom on both recording and playback
and for the microphone they are both set up high and not on mute.

The issue has occured since I installed a webcam program but I uninstalled
it and the issues remain.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

There may be one step you haven't done yet: open "advanced," it's the
button under the mic volume control, then check "Mic Boost." HTH

There may be "feedback control" active in your system. When "playback"
is active on your mic, that feature can in some cases detect feedback
even when there are no speakers involved. Try disabling playback on your
mic, and see if recording volume gets back to normal.
