- miniport
- Posted by velc on April 17th, 2005
hi
I have been trying to set up my new comp to access my broadband connection,I
have a miniport wan connector built into my computer that only supports
PPPoE encapsulation and my ISP only supports PPPoA encapsulation.if I buy a
pci network card will I be able to connect with this or will I still need
the USB ADSL modem I have been trying to use.I have tried for hours to set
the USB modem up but no matter how I try to configure it the comp still will
not see it, and tries to connect through the mini port.I have tried all the
ideas from my previous post (thanks Oldus Fartus) plus lots of others with
no success.any ideas or recommendations for a network card would be much
appreciated.

I don't know what's been advised previously, but have you
tried disabling the miniport in the BIOS?
