Better still here in Spain you can get a PCMCIA card for your laptop and put
a Sim in it and have 1gb a month for 30 euros other countries must have the
same.

Ask your mobile phone company. It is certainly technically possible, and
has been for years, but not all phone service accounts include it and not
all handsets can do it. There is probably something about it in the
instruction book for your handset, if it is one of those that can do it.
Using a GSM connection, you'll get 9600bps - or 28,800 if your phone
company can let you use multiple 'channels'. Either way it probably works
out as both slow and expensive, so it wouldn't be a first choice for most
people. I have used it succesfully though, on the Orange network a few
years ago. A GPRS connection should be a lot quicker, but I've never
tried it.
You'll need to connect your computer and mobile handset; infra-red,
'bluetooth', 'WiFi', or USB or Serial cable - depending on your particular
hardware. You will also probably need some software for the computer, and
perhaps for the handset too. The computer software is probably only
available for Windows or Mac systems - although there are some
'independent' programs available for Linux, for some models of handset.
There are (or used to be) PC-Card (PCMCIA) gadgets that would take a
mobile SIM card, as an alternative to using a mobile phone as such for
making the connection.
Using 'wireless hotspots' is likely to work out quicker and cheaper, these
days.

You may use your mobile phone as a modem device. Connection to your pc (most
commonly laptops are connected on the road that way) is either through a
special cable or via bluetooth if your pc/laptop does have that.
It is not the cheapest and most performant way to connect to the i-net yet,
though, depending upon you have to use dialin to some ISP at 9600 bps or
you can use gprs or even umts.
You may ask your handy service provider for more details.

You first will need a phone that has the modem capability. You will
need the interface cable, and the software for your phone. Then you will
need to subscribe to your phone company for the data service. There are
normally two options, depending on the capability of the phone that you
have. You can have the phone company act as your ISP, and thus get the
best possible performance. Or, you can use the phone as a dialup modem
to your ISP. With dialup on a mobile phone modem, the speed will be very
restrictive.
In both cases, the use of a mobile phone for celiar data services is
very expensive in most places with most services. If this is not being
written off as a business expense, you will surely feel it in your
wallet!
