- Mouse movement
- Posted by Douglas on January 19th, 2006
I am using Win XP. My mouse is hard to use...jerks and is hard to move to a
icon or anything else to click. I have ran my virus checker, antispyware.
Microsoft Spyware and all have found nothing. This was happening with my
old mouse as well as the new mouse I brought. What else can I check?
Thanks
Doug

Doug
Do a 'Ctrl+Alt+Del' and bring up the task manager, go to the process and
performance tabs and see if anything is hogging your CPU time.
Cheers
Paul.

If you have an old style mouse that still uses a ball, the little rollers
inside the mouse may be dirty. Take the ball out and clean the rollers with
a Q tip and some alcohol.
If it's a optical mouse, a bit of lint on the optics will cause the same
thing. Simply blow it off.

If it is a ball mouse, move it in arcs instead of straight lines. If
that makes a difference, and you have cleaned the rollers, then you may
just need to replace it.
