- My New monitor ain't sharp...
- Posted by Richard on December 13th, 2006
Hi I have just bought a brand new Sonicview monitor a few days ago. The
display resolution was at first raazor sharp but suddenly faded to so
something far from ideal. I keep getting this pop-up which says "adjust
monitor resolution to 1440 x 900 for best view.." I tied to adjust the
monitor to the recommended resolution but could simply not get anywhere near
there..
Anyone knows what I can do to solve this?

you need.
Unless upgraded drivers for your Gfx card would do it.

Your monitor displays the sharpest when it is driven by your computers
graphics card at 1440 x 900 pixels.
The 'adjust monitor ..." message tells that the graphics card is not set to
output this resolution, consequently the monitor trys the best it can but as
you have found it looks 'fuzzy'
To adjust the output from your graphics card, right click the desktop, left
click 'properties', click on the 'settings' tab (to right) then adjust the
'Screen Resolution' slider to 1440 x 900 and 'Apply'.
Best

In the display settings there is an option to show only the assumed
few display resolution for specified monitor, there is also an option
to show all resolutions that your video card is capable of handling.
I have a nVidia graphics card and in advanced-adapter there is an
option to 'list all modes'. Try this it may help.
