Nero Showtime won't play avi file


When I try to play it, I get this message.

Cannot play this media file
ClassFactory cannot supply requested class (0x80040111)

What is wrong and how can I make it play?

Have you tried the AVI file in a different program? Windows Media Player
does AVI. If it doesn't play in there, maybe the FILE is damaged.

You're missing a codec. Get GSpot to tell you what codec
was used to encode the file. http://www.headbands.com/gspot/

Ok I used that program it advised me to download the DivX 5 program
which I did. The player worked for the avi in question.

I try to use Nero Vision Express 2 but when I try to video encode it.
There is a back screen when previewing it and only sound comes out.
I use another avi file which uses the same codecs but that one works.

Why? and how could I make the avi file video encode so I can made a
dvd video using Nero Vision Express 2.
