- Nero waveform goes only 1/2 of the recording

Hello All:
I have a two hour audio recording of a radio program that a friend
sent me. It is in mp3 format. When I open it with Nero's wave editor,
I only get 1/2 of the recording's waveform created.
My friend says he recorded it at Sampling-rate of 22.05 kHz to
eliminate some noise that he was getting it with earlier recordings.
What might be the problem here? How do I correct this?

Also, tell your friend that sampling at 22.05 kHz is *NOT* an acceptable
method of eliminating noise - it isn't really even a method at all.
