- Netframework 1.1 Fails everytime

I am running XP Home/SP2 and windows update tries to install Netframework
1.1 security and fails. I have tried to un-install and re-install but it
ask for original disks... wth? I have an OEM installed system so here is no
"Net" disk. Do I have to totally re-install from scratch?

Sometimes it's possible to extract files from the OEM recovery CD /
partition.
Don't use Windows update then.
As per previous posts.
1) d/l the installer from the framework site, check which version does
it the update
http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframewo.../framework1_1/
2) switch windows update to windows catalogue, d/l the patch then
install manually.
3) try www.google.com
