When I updated the firmware in my Netgear DM602 ADSL modem to firmware
version 3.05NUT17-1.38.030131d, I found that Netgear had added a
firewall.
The only problem is that the date/time in the alarm logs is about 34
years out of date. When the modem was restarted after the upgrade the
date was Jan 01 00:00:00 1970, it also goes to this date if I reset
the modem. Currently, the date is Mon Jan 12 00:27:35 1970 and I can
only assume that the modem cannot find a time server and there is no
way to change the time server the modem is set to find.
I have spoken to Netgear support and they don't have any suggestions
only to escalate it to level 2 and waiting for a UK Tech to contact
me. After 2 weeks and chasing Netgear 3 times and I'm still waiting,
when I contacted Netgear support today they suggested exchanging the
modem, but at a cost of $30 and no guarantee that it will fix the
problem I reluctant to go down this route.
Has anybody else seen this problem?
