New computer cd drive question
Posted by Shirley Azvedo on October 25th, 2003

Have a new HP and it has a cd drive that is used for read and write. There
is another place for a cd drive but there is nothing in it. Is it where one
would put a DVD drive or does the read/write drive work as a DVD drive also?

Thanks,

"So, Mr Slumpy you *really* are the perpetual comedian, aren't you ?" I
threw back my head and roared with laughter as Shirley Azvedo continued:

Depends what the drive is - what make/model is it ?

It's an empty bay, and yes, you could put a DVD-rom or DVD-ram drive in there. A
CD-RW will not play DVDs, if that's what you're asking.

Shirley, if you intend to continue to post to any usenet group, you really need
to munge your e-mail address. There are bots that trawl usenet, and their only
purpose is to scrape addresses like yours from groups in order to spam them.
There are also viruses that will use your address to attempt to propagate.

(See how I did it below.)
