- New IE window default size
- Posted by Bob on July 16th, 2005
Hello everyone,
Small but annoying problem. Ever since doing some virtual house painting
thing at the Dulux site, i notice now that every new IE window that opens
*not* from clicking the big E on desktop or the small E on taskbar is a
small box about 40% of screen. Seems to be a pernament default size change.
How can i set this back to normal again? Already tried the "windows
remembers the size of your last closed window" trick, but that's only
temporary it seems.
TIA.
Cheers.

Open an IE link and then close all other IE windows. In the
address bar, type the following (where XXX,XXX is your current
screen resolution - 800,600 or 1024,768 etc.):
javascript:moveTo(0,0);resizeT*o(XXX,XXX)
Hold the CTRL key and close the window. New windows should now
open at the new size.

Much Thanks Toolman Tim. But you forgot after typing in that into the
address bar you need to press Enter to set it. Then i held CTRL down and
closed the window. And then tried a link from OE and it opened just fine and
full size.
Cheers again.

Glad it worked. And really, pressing the enter key after typing a command is
pretty much *understood* by everyone using computers. I didn't feel you
needed someone holding your hand...
