- New used computer
- Posted by Hawkeye on November 9th, 2003
I just purchased a computer from a private seller. I would like to know if
there is a way to remove their name as the "owner" so I can change it to
mine.
TIA,
Hawkeye

Start / Run, type in "msconfig", (no quotes), then OK. System.ini Tab,
scroll down to "Passwords Lists" and highlite the name(s) you don't want
and hit Edit. Substitute your own name. Mind the check marks where
appropriate.

there name will be in the registry in quite a few places
run regedit, then search
enter the name exactly as listed
then modify the entry to put your name there
