- No Sound
- Posted by Joshuall on August 3rd, 2007
No sound icon and We have no sound at all.
We have a Dell Inspiron computer with XP Professional loaded on it.
When trying to use media player we get message that either there is not a
sound card installed, not functioning properly or is being used by another
program.
We have run all kinds of trojan removers, spyware and Kapersky. During a
spyware scan, found that viewpoint was loaded on it. Got rid of that.
Also went to Creative in Program files, had it do a diagnostic and hardware
tested fine, everything in software was fine except for the Mixer.
Any clues of what could be wrong???
Thanks for your help, Judy.

Got a yellow mark in front of the sound card? fix it.
No Yellow Mark, uninstal and reinstall.
Do this with nothing plug'd into your computer except mouse and
keyboard.
