Hello! I was just wondering if any one can help me, I have found that I
have no backup anywhere on my Laptop, I haven't used it before as I'd never
had anything that I wanted to backup, but the other eve. I was reading my
WindowsXP Book & on following the instructions found it wasn't there, I am
using XP home. & would be most grateful for any help. TIA

Windows Backup is useless. Use a third party
alternative.

It is on the XP CD and you must install manually.

I don't think I got a windows CD in fact I'm sure I didn't Joe, I got the
Toshiba back up for reconfiguration all my computer if it should need it,
where can I get a Windows xp home edition Back Up CD from? Do I get it from
windows or buy it in a computer shop (as you can see I'm am yet a novis
where computers are concerned). Flora

If all you want to backup is your documents and settings then use the file
and settings wizard to make a backup file onto your hard drive then burn it
to a CD.

If your computer did not come with backup disks it might have a hidden
partition with the operating system on it. Usually pressing f10 on boot
will get you into the restore program. You might try it just to check so
that in case your system crashes you will know if you have an option. You
should also have some documentation with your computer which explains how
you restore anything that goes wrong.
