norton ghost 2003 and usb
Posted by AParkham@gmail.com on February 4th, 2006

Hi,

I am currently using a norton ghost 2003 boot disk to save and upload
images. I also have a lacie external hard drive.
The problem that I am encountering is, when I boot up with ghost:
1) When I click on local --> disk --> "to image" to save an image of a
disk - the lacie external hard drive IS seen in the list of drives to
choose from.
2) When I click on local --> disk --> "from image" to upload an image
of a disk - the lacie external hard drive IS NOT seen in the list of
drives to choose from.
3) When I click on local --> partition --> "to image" or "from image"
- I DO NOT see the lacie harddrive as an option for the list of drives.

Is there any way to fix this? I'm pretty much computer
illiterate...please be patient with me. =)
I have both USB 1.1 and 2.0 on the PC. The above occurs when I am
connected to the usb 2.0. When I am connected to the USB 1.1 - I do not
think it sees that the lacie external hard drive is connected.

Thank you!

If you are booting a dos Ghost boot disk and the dos USB drivers aren't
compatible with your USB drive, then you are SOL. Did you create the
disk with USB drivers included?

absolutely certain, it might be a good idea to format the USB drive
in FAT32 and see if it is already NTFS.
