- NTL Wireless broadband router

If I install NTL wireless broadband do I still have a broadband modem.
Where does the wireless broadband fit in line, such as cable in to house
broadband modem then to wireless router.
NTL says the wireless signal will go for 100 metres, anyone tried that.
