Like most people, I shower daily and I have been checking this discovery for
several weeks.
When I first noticed it I began to check every day and each day I found
that, to me, it was the same from day to day.

I shower in closed room, inside a closed shower with the top open.

When finished I grab a towel from a selection of perhaps 6 or eight towels
of different color or texture, all hanging on the towel bar.

I have noticed that if a pick a dark colored towel the towel feels if it
were slightly damp - such as if steam from the shower had affected it in
some way.

If I choose a white or light colored towel that sensation is not there.

It's a stupid question but does a color of the towel affect this perception
of mine or am I just paranoid? Old men can lead a simple life and this is
one of
his simple problems.

Dark rough surfaces both radiate and absorb infrared radiation better
than white/light smooth surfaces.

All of the objects in a steamy bathroom are cooler than the hot steam,
including both light and dark towels and the walls and mirrors etc, and
would tend to provide potential condensation surfaces for the steam
vapor.

But, when the dark towels are 'touched' by [near to] the steam, they
absorb its radiant energy faster than do the white ones; and having
stolen the warmth of the vaporized water molecules nearby, cause those
water molecules to precipitate on the dark towels faster.

Perhaps.

We would need to perform a better controlled experiment than your
fallible observation, but you might build a null hypothesis around that
conjecture for purposes of constructing a properly designed experiment.

I recommend accurately weighing all of the towels before and after the
showering steam exposure.

I would think the texture would have a bit to do with it all

if they were all same age, brand, same style, texture etc
but diff colors maybe more of an evaluation

How refreshing! That started out like it was going to be about
some fictional oozing sore that the 14-year-olds think to be a funny
topic.
