Outlook 98 setup/profile problem
Posted by Ludwig77 on October 16th, 2003

I'm setting Outlook 98 up to pop my e-mail. I set the pop from a
separate login profile than another account that pre-exists on
Outlook.

When I attempt to log in via the new profile, I get an error message
stating

"Unable to open your default folders. Outlook could not start because
a location to send and receive e-mail could not be found. To add a
location, such as a personal folder file, double-click the Mail icon
in Windows Control Panel."

Upon checking the mail settings in the Control Panel, I click on the
delivery tab and can view a pull-down menu that is labeled "Deliver
New Mail to the following location"

The pull-down menu does NOT give me any options. It is cleared. I also
don't see anywhere where I can configure my send/receive UNC path.

What can I do?

You'd be far better off posting in microsoft.public.outlook or
microsoft.public.outlook.general
