Overclocking Info Request

Hello.

I just wondered if anyone knows whether there is a utility that comes
with Windows XP Pro, or software that was with my Mobo that allows me
to see the status and temperatures of the CPU etc within Windows?

I have a AMD 2500 Barton CPU and an ABIT NF7s nForce2 Mobo.

Also, if you have a link to a decent site on how I can learn how to
overclock my CPU a tad I'd be very grateful.

I think my CPU is about 1.8Ghz, and I'd just like to overclock to just
over 2Ghz.

I don't think I would be able to overclock my system too much because
the cooling wouldn't be good enough. If I don't have the fan on full
blast the CPU heats up too much and the alarm sounds. Also, I often
run a lot of applications at the same time.

Speaking of alarms, I just wondered if it is possible to de-activate
the warning alarm for the CPU temp without having to reboot the whole
system? This is always something that has bugged me especially in the
middle of an online gaming session.

Thanks for any help with all these questions.

John

It's on the ABIT CD and is under Utilities I think. You are looking for
"Winbond" also called "system doctor"
