- Parental Control of Sites Visited
- Posted by Michael Bugala on July 5th, 2003
I am new at Sympatico and a new internet user as well.
I am trying to find an answer:
When I type a single letter in the ADDRESS box - a bunch of different
addresses come up. Are these addresses that were actually typed into the
ADDRESS box or could they be sites that someone went into via a different
site?
When I look into the ADDRESS box does this show me the same info as my
HISTORY does? If not, how are they different?
I am waiting for my Freedom cd to arrive in the mail and until that time I
have no parental control. When I do the above or check HISTORY there are
some sites that are questionable (not where I want people to be ).
Is it possible tohave history and addresses of sites visited by accident?

It's a history of where the browser's been. It makes no distinction
about how it got there; whether by having the address typed, or by
clicking on links.
Whether or not you decide to believe it's "by accident", is up to
you. It won't take long for the kids to figure out how to clear the
auto-complete and history in Internet Options, anyway.
