- pcx1100 toshiba cable modem

The old modem is probably 5 years old.
I run XP pro, IE6, 512 MB ram and every few hours the internet connexion
hangs and I need to reset the modem.
I can't figure out this nuisance.
Need help, please.

I had the same modem with the same problem - after 4 or 5 years - I
started getting disconnected. Once I replaced the modem, I was as
good as new.

Did you go for the Motorola modem supported by cox?
