Photoshop Elements 2 Question
Posted by Bill on September 27th, 2003

I'm trying to resize some pictures to send in an email. I'd like the
pictures to be full screen sized or a bit smaller.

In Photoshop Elements there is a command in the FILE menu to "Attach to an
E-Mail" When I do this.. the picture is still MUCH larger then the screen.

If I go to IMAGE | RESIZE | IMAGE SIZE and change the image size to 3" x
4" and attach the saved size to an email.. it is still MUCH larger than the
screen size when I send it to myself.

Any help appreciated.

The resized photo should be saved as "save as", give it a new file name.
This is the one to send in email. Your original large one will still be
on your drive unchanged.

Thanks Juan.. That is what I did. The original is "image.jpg" and the
"resized one" is "imagea.jpg". However, as I mentioned.. when I send
"imagea" to myself it still is huge.

Forget "inches" when specifying dimensions, use "pixels." Depending on what
video card you and your correspondents use, your screen size is anywhere
from 640w x 480h to 1280w x 1024h. When you resize an image, specify one of
the dimensions and make sure the box is ticked which will allow the other
dimension to be changed proportionately. You will have to experiment a bit
to find out what the optimum size is for your needs.
