Power / Battery issues !!!!!! HEEELP !!!!
Posted by HTPROF on August 2nd, 2007

I hope someone could help me. My battery won't charge and without the
battery my laptop does not power up.

I thought the problem was the battery and I bought a new one and now
it is working but the battery is still not charging and I am sure it
will power off shortly.

Can anyone tell me what might be the problem? Can it be something
internal?

Sounds like your charger/adaptor is bad.

The good news is that when you get a new adapter, you will probably have
a extra/spare battery for traveling because the old one is likely still
good. The bad news is that it usually costs a lot to replace both a
battery and the adapter, unless you get a good deal somewhere. Some
laptops aren't worth replacing a battery and an adapter.

I have such a love-hate relationship with laptops that so far I have
refused to buy one. I even put together a rolling desktop computer
which accesses my router with an 'extra' access point to avoid buying a
LT to use in another part of the house that doesn't have ethernet for
the LAN.
