- problem with second drive
- Posted by fruitbat on February 3rd, 2005
I have two 80mb hard discs on my Pentium 4 and can switch to boot from
either.
It works well. Both are XP Pro.
One of these drives is a made as an Acronis mirror of the other. This has
never been a problem.
Now both drives work fine but one of them will not recognise my burner.
Going into device manager has not helped. The bad drive simply will not
acknowledge a CD drive.
Any suggestions .

that is now causing the problems.
The data files are not the problem because the disc worked well until a few
days ago, weeks after the extra files were added.

I would try disconnecting the cd drive and the drive that does not have a
problem. Then reboot, next reinstall the cd drive and reboot and see if it
is recognized, if so then hook the other drive back up and see what happens.
