- Problems changing music CDs with WinMe version of Windows Media Player
- Posted by Nick Worley on September 14th, 2003
Is there a known bug with the WinMe version of Windows Media Player where
WMP freezes if you stop a music CD playing and you then insert another CD?
This keeps happening to me. I do Ctrl+Alt+Delete and the Close Program
dialog box informs me that WMP is not responding (which I knew already). I
then click on End Task to close WMP and get a blue screen. I then have to
restart the computer.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Has anyone else been able to solve this problem?
Is there a patch I can download to fix this?
Thanks
Nick

Try toggling the DMA option for the CD drive, in Device Manager,
and reboot.
