problems connecting
Posted by MJR on November 11th, 2005

I lost the internet connection on my old computer which is connected via a
router to my new computer. New computer still goes online. I did a new
network connection per instruction from Comcast but it still won't sign on.
One thing that I have noticed is that when I go to I.E, and get " page
cannot be displayed" there is a notice about a shdoclc.dll in
windows/system. I seem to recall that I had this problem once before and
that this particular dll had something to do why I could not get online, but
forgot how I fixed it.

I did go online and downloaded this particular dll. file and installed over
the old one into the windows/system directory. Unfortunately this did not
correct the problem.
I am running windows 98.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Monika

Dear Mr. Blinky,
it was not my intention to post my message twice. My first post was rejected
by "newsgroup.comcast.net" because I did not use my main id. As soon as I
realized this, I posted a new message and it went.............together with
my first one which was still sitting in the outbox.
My appologies.
Monika
