Question about saving money rather than paying money.
Posted by Knut Arvid Keilen on February 17th, 2006

Hi there !

I have put this matter up before.

I am 42 years old, male and living in Norway.

Some 25 years ago or more, when I was a child, my parents input 70 NOK
(Norwegian Krones) in a local bank on my behalf.

10 years later there had been no transactions on this account and I received
a letter of 0 Krones in return when it was cancelled.

About the year 1990 I took up a study loan of 3 * 5000 NOK. Later another
loan, the total amounting to 48,950 NOK.

This loan is not a serial loan or the like but an annuity loan.

The result is this :

I have had a couple of small loans. Also having done some work and helping
around. I also have become quite thoughtful regarding efficient life style
and living.

I received about 25,000 NOK in payment during 25 years of life.

Today, the Norwegian Pension Fund / Retirement System is being considered by
most people to have been abolished / or not being in use, officially.

When doing shopping in centre of town, some of the basic or simple things
needed are hard to find. I do not know wheter this is because I
am rich or because I am poor.

Since my parents did not want me to live at home anymore, I moved to a small
flat of 32 sq. m. Price tag : 220,000 NOK. Flat prices are high in Norway.

I have an education in computers and light economy that started more than 15
years ago. I was not very good at first, but soon becoming better.

Some 5 years ago, I moved to an apartment having an initial price tag of
650,000 NOK. (Please remember the annuity principle as mentioned before).

The official seller or reseller of this apartment is the local government of
the city of Trondheim.

The difference between my income (25,000 +) and my expenses / debt (650,000
+ 220,000 + 48,950 NOK) is claimed by the local State Prosecutor
by means of jurisdictional law. This "jurisdictional law" is a final matter
which can not be overruled in ANY MATTER whatsoever.

I feel a little let down. Any suggestion is helpful.

Thanks in advance !
