Radeon 7500 fan prob
Posted by Hugh on August 18th, 2004

When I come home from work and turn my system on the fan on the video card
comes on and works for a little while then turns off. Now the chip is not
that hot even after awhile. I turn my system off then on and the fan will
not come on. I guess it has to wait for some time (like a couple of hours
to a day) then it will come on again for awhile. Is this fan on the ATI
Radeon 7500 supposed to do that? Only come on when it gets hot???

and probably should just get a good aftermarket heatsink/fan combo while
you're spending money - i recently put a Thermaltake Giant III on my
Radeon 9600XT - tremendous difference :-o)

Used to be, when i played TigerWoods PGA Tour 2004, the chipset got
up to 66 deg C, and was around 38-40 deg C at idle

now it doesn't get higher than 37 deg C under scorching loads of graphics
with the chipset overclocked (thanx to Rage3D) to the 575 MHz of the
high price 9800 XT!
