I am trying to connect the 5005 dvd recorder but the manuel does not

you missed one scart out.
1/ set-top to TV
2/ set-top to dvd
3/ dvd to TV
this way you have signal direct from settop box to TV for direct viewing.///
signal from settop to dvd for recording //// signal out from dvd to TV for
play back
with TV channels tuned to give 1/2/3/4/5 as bbc1/ bbc2/ itv/ c4/ c5/. via
75ohm coax cable
channel 6 could be tuned to settop box /via scart
and channel 7 tuned to dvd via scart
