Roy G. Biv - I learned that in High School in 1949 - 50 in Physics class.
The light spectrum. I wonder how many know the significance of it?

Two things happen everytime I do a cold start on my WinXPpro Sony Viao
Desktop
1. I get a first screen. Well before anything loads telling me there's
a error. Press F1 to continue or go to Setup.
I just press F1
2. When WinXP loads I get an error message telling me there's a
hardware problem and giving me the option to send a report to MS. I
have stopped bothering.
3. I have a USB printer. Every new start it tells me I have new
hardware. Do I want to install it? I used to say yes and I ended up
with two USB printer installs. Now I just cancel. I get a message that
my new hardware won't work, but the printer works fine. (I don't
think this is the same problem as above.)
I know this is not a lot of information, but if someone can point me
in a direction to be begin diagnosing these problems, I appreciate it.
Typically, I leave the machine on for 10 days or more without a
restart. Usually I only restart it when some update or install
requires a new start.
