- real player 10 forcing open pop up browser windows
- Posted by Quiz Time on September 10th, 2005
Does anyone know how to disable the automatic popping up of browser windows
when you open video clips downloaded off the web?
I have a pop up stopper but it seems to be by-passing it, It keeps
showing/forcing open 'the web page/home pages' of commercial sites, every
time I open a newly downloaded vid clip.
There must be a setting somewhere within realplayer to disable the opening
of the web windows somehow but for the life of me I can't find the right
option to de-select!
Cheers,
Andy

I don't think you'll find a setting in Realplayer for this (one good
example of why I have programs like this require permission to get out
past the firewall). The videos sound like they've come loaded with spy-,
ad-, or nag-ware. You *do* scan all of your downloads before you execute
them, don't you?

If not, pop-ups could be a relatively small symptom of a potentially
large problem.
