- A Really Dumb (Probably) OE Question
- Posted by Pop Aye on November 6th, 2004
I want to set up an Email account for my wife, using Outlook Express6.
I can set up her identity, but then I'm lost, I can't seem to be able
to set her up to send/receive. I've gone through the Help topics, but
they confuse me even more.
So here I am with two identities (hers and mine), but only one that
can be used to send/receive Email (Mine). All I want is for her to
have her own account.
I hope what I said makes sense. I apologize if I didn't ask for help
correctly, but, while I'm not new to 'puters, OE has me completely
snowed.
Any help greatly appreciated.
TIA

Dumb response, did you think to open an email account for her? You can
enter the info all you want into *your* computer but if the mail server
isn't set up for her account it won't do you any good.

True. He needs to set up a second email address with his ISP. Then in her
"identity" set up an account with here new email address, using the same POP
and SMTP server information from his already working account.

<no.spam.for.tcm@my.email.is.invalid> screamed from behind the
mulberry bush:
Or maybe he's not switching identities when he's trying to get her
e-mail.

Thanks for the replies. Once I saw them, I couldn't believe how basic
the answer was. Of course, set it up thru the ISP. I really feel
stupid. I guess I'm going to have either increase or decrease the
Oxycontin doses. Maybe I'l function better.
Again, thanks to all.
